While advancing through class years in the Wizarding World, your major gives you the ability to expand on your skills as the year progresses. Often several interesting campaign moments will occur during a single class year, and you will be informed when you have time to do a "class activity." This will generally occur once per class year.

The class abilities available by major are:

Care of Magical Creatures

Characters who major in the Care of Magical Creatures can spend their time during the year performing the following two actions:
  • You can reallocate any or all of the Training points you have invested into your companion.
  • You can choose a single skill your companion is proficient in and grant it a +1 bonus when using that skill.

Charms

Characters who major in Charms can spend their time during the year performing the following action:
  • You can learn 1 new normal spell or 2 new minor spells.

Defense against the Dark Arts

Characters who major in Defense against the Dark Arts can spend their time during the year performing the following action:
  • You can learn 1 new normal spell or 2 new minor spells.

Potions

Characters who major in Potions can spend their time during the year performing the following action:
  • You can create up to X basic potions without expending Standard Ingredients.

Transfiguration

Characters who major in Transfiguration can spend their time during the year performing the following action:
  • You can learn 1 new normal spell or 2 new minor spells.
